I have a decent calf my self and when I bought it at my size,34W 30L, it was a little too tight and I could feel as if it was tearing when I tried to sit down. So anyone with big calf might have to go a size bigger. I had to buy another pair with 36W 30L and it was a perfect fit though I need to wear a belt now. This is my second pair. I use them with duty boots and ankle high shoes. The fabric is nice and stretchy. Not for fat guys but works well for me. 6' 155 lbsI love these pants. Great for just about everything. You can work in these pants, wear them out on the town, teach second grade, skate in them, or whatever else. They are pretty durable although I have had the fluke pair that the belt loops broke rather quickly but Dickies sent a new pair out for free. Their customer service is super good. After I wear them into the ground I give the legs a snip and make them shorts. Needless to say I save a lot of money with my pants to shorts tradition. These pants are snug but not outrageously tight. Just right my 39 year old self. Reasonably priced and my wife digs them.Work unfortunately makes me wear khakis but these are great! Size definitely runs small on the waist. I’m usually a 32, maybe 33. But I needed 34’s to get the perfect fit. These pants lasted ma about 1.5 years but I do manual labor and wear them at least 3 times a week so…. Still great pants!Men who have thick claves would have a hard time with "slim fit" (not just this brand). Been wearing it for 4 weeks hoping it will stretch claves areas, nope. Claves areas are still tight but its a give and take. Regular dickies are too baggy, and this fits perfectly in every department except for claves lolI hate dickies. I hate shopping for them and I hate the fit. So why am I writing a review for them? Or even buying them.First off im 6'3 tall and 200lbs. I got a belly. Im skinny fat. I guess you could say.My work order me 4 pairs. Which, didn't fit. Really baggy in the legs, big in the waist. And just not a good fit.So I decided to order my own few pairs of dickies. I haven't worn dickies. Since my high school days in early 00's. Well reading a bunch of reviews. I took everything with a grain of salt. So I order 2 pairs in 2 different sizes.1 was a 38x 32 and second one a 36x32. In regular jeans im 34 -36 x 32. I know if your not super skinny dickies run small and I always go one size bigger then normal. Well since I needed these for work I order one size up and also 2 sizes up.38x32 they are a little big in the waist, was expecting that. Legs where a nice clean fit. Just like a nice regular fit jeans. Not skin tight, but not baggy at all. Enough room for the package. Easy to squat in, with out ripping your pants.36x32 big difference in the waist. A little extra room, not much. If your a 34 normally. These will give you enough room for that food baby, lol. The legs are a little bit tighter, more going into a slim fit. But they are shorter then your normal 32 length. I would go 34 length and hem the extra. Me being 6'3 you can tell they are a little short when I sit in a computer chair.I hope this helps someone. Specially taller guys around my height and weight.Previously bought the Dickey’s Slim tapered fit. It was neither slim or tapered. These are much closer to what I would consider slim tapered fit. Slightly lighter weight, but should be great for daily wearI am a female and decided to try these pants. Im usually a 29” or 30” depending on where the pants sit at the waist. I initially got a 30” and the waist was fine but the thighs and lower legs were overly tight. So tight i could barely bend down or put them on. I returned them and got a 31”. The thoughts were better and had a little more room but the waist was very large. Even with a belt, the waist would bunch up and a large gap will appear on the backside. Because they fit well in the legs, i decided to get the waist fitted to my size so now they fit perfectly. Definitely be careful with the sizing and if you have larger thighs, i suggest going up a size.Update:So after around 4 months of wear the dye has faded around my pocket where my phone is kept and the thread is wear through on a corner. I bought the Dickies as I presumed they’d last longer, apparently this is isn’t the case.Still keeps some stars for how comfy and well they fit, shame about how long they last.—————————————Fit REALLY well, really nice material and feels hard wearing. Phone pocket also is big enough to carry an iPhone XS Max which I was surprised about.Delivery time was about 2 weeks, around a week earlier than expected. These fit like any other dickiesAs the materials quite hard you always need a one size up im usually 30/31 waist i got these in a 31 and they were a big snug but after a few days wearing them they have stretched to perfection. The leg is skinny so if you have larger legs are work out these wont be any good for youGood replacement for the double knee trousers that you cant get anymoreI'm a size 29-30 waist. I ordered the right size and they don't fit over my skinny legs at all. They might do for my 12 yr old son next year ! Awful sizing. Awful to return. Just don't bother. RUBBISH BUY.Overall the trousers are great quality, very robust and the material feels very stiff on first hand, but will soften once washed a few times.Usually i wear w32 but found them a bit tight, especially around the crotch area. So in that respect I'd opt for the next size up.I am an AV tech, easy 35 hoirs job. I go on my knees from time to time to get tk some pieces of kit but not enough anymore to wear combats. Big hole in the knee, now they're just fine if I want to be a hipster but no fit for purpose.
