I like these boots. My poor battered feet are hard to make happy so it is always a challenge finding a good fit. I need ankle support and these boots are good in that area. I was not thrilled with the original insoles and replaced them with some of with a bit more cushion. Replacing insoles is normal for me. The toe box is pretty roomy (which I like), but less so with the insoles I switched to but still comfortable. I haven't tested waterproofness. I normally wear a 9 for most shoes and boots but need 9.5 in Keen boots. I wear a 9.5 in Danner boots, too. If uncertain, go up a half size.
