This is just my experience, the sizing is a bit inconsistent. I've worn traditional 874 pants for work before I decided to get a pair of these, so I understand how Dickie's sizes their pants, they've always been fairly true to size. I read some reviews saying that the sizing was inconsistent, so, as to not have to go through potentially returning an item, I ordered them one size up from my normal waist size. I traditionally wear a 32x30 and I ordered a 33x30 in two different colors. The black pair i ordered didn't sit as close to my waist as I would have liked, but with a belt they fit fine, no excess fabric to worry about. The charcoal pair I ordered hug my waist a bit better and fit fine. I'm not upset, they fit fine, length wise they're exact, I don't have any issues with the inseam, there's just a slight difference in the waist, but with a few washes I think it'll work itself out. You're still getting that same Dickies quality, couldn't believe these were still less than $30 a piece, it's a bargain! Another thing I like is that the belt loops are wider to accommodate for larger belts and the legs aren't pleaded like they normally would be on a pair of 874s. All in all, I'm happy, but do be cautious when ordering, the sizing can be tricky. I recommend going up instead of down, nothing is worse than a pair of pants that's too tight in the waist.
