I bought these boots for my 17 year-old son 7 months ago. As a frequent Amazon buyer I can say I still get intimated by purchases such as this where the price point is high and the selection and features of the item are many. I was nervous spending this much money on boots, online.Let me tell you, this was a SUPER purchase!!My son wore these from day one, really with no break-in period. He started wearing them everyday to school and throughout the evening. He's working for a construction/remodeling company for the summer where he could choose to wear tennis shoes instead of these boots, and he chooses the boots. He raves about their comfort. In 7 months we've had not one flaw or malfunction with these boots. Soles and uppers are still in great condition. My son is a very active kid and has put these boots through a lot of tough use. They seem to repel stains well and are extremely well constructed. If/when the time comes we will get him another pair.Last week my husband decided to get a pair for himself so we ordered a pair for him too. I'm very happy these boots are made in the USA!! My only complaint is in the 7 months since we purchased my son's pair the price has gone up $50!!! This may be seasonal since we bought one pair in the winter and the other in summer. Either way, we were so pleased with the quality and comfort of these boots that we paid it.This will be my second pair of boots I work in construction and these boots are simply impressive I work 12hrs Monday - Friday and I am currently remodeling my house so I typically spend 16+ hrs a day in these boots up and down ladders on concrete floors and I will also mention that I do a lot of hiking hunting and fishing in these boots they are super light weight breathable and durable 8 months and 16 hr days I’m not easy on footwear but these have held up the best thus far I’ve ordered my second pair the only improvement I would LOVE see is I loop on the back to pull them on with hence the 4 star not fiveI had previously tried the goretex version of these boots and they were a bit large. I'm a large man, 6'5" and about 350 lbs and my feet are somewhat odd shaped and I have a hard time finding boots that are not only wide enough, but also not too big. My left foot measures for a 12.5 shoe and my right for a 12. Unfortunately I cannot wear most 12 wide boots, but a lot of companies dont make a 12.5 available in their boots. Enter the Rocky S2v boots. Not only do they come in a 12.5, but its a perfect fit. It's snug without being restrictive or binding. The sole is a cup sole so your foot sits in the sole not on top of it, also a great feature for someone like me who goes through a pair of boots every 8 months because of poorly constructed boots and quite frankly bad decisions in quality footwear. These have been around for several years and I can definitely see myself wearing these on and off duty as long as they are available. That being said, they are a bit heavy. I know with all the "lightweight" tactical boots out there that the choices are vast. Do yourself and your feet a favor and try these out. Quality boots are always worth the extra cost in the long run and these are definitely high quality and made in the USA. I will be ordering these in black as well to wear on duty.Overall this product was well described, fit my needs, and held up well. I purchased these as an edition to my footwear for an army field exercise. After wearing them for a month in the field I noticed some minor fraying around the stitching from the sole on the inside of the foot. This is the only reason for a 4 star review. If not for the poor stitching this would be a well deserved 5of5. I purchased the boots and started wearing them two days later. There was no real break in period. I wore standard black boots sock. They did not rub or leave hot spots on my feet. I did not get blisters and my feet stayed moderately dry for a guy that usually has hot feet. The tread is wonderful on this product and I can see them lasting much longer. If I have to purchase another boot this will be my go to.After 5 months the seam where the rubber met the rest of boot completely failed. The stitching is one thread they are not durable. I’m disappointed because I love the fit but they just haven’t lasted as long as I expected. For 235$ I expect to get a year, or At least longer than 5 months.I work mostly inside throughout the winter and outside in the warmer months. They hadn’t been overly abused. These were recommended to me by someone else in my field whom also has wide feet. His have already failed at 8 months. These boots are great. In my experience, I have been able to buy a pair and go for a 12 mile ruck and return without blisters. The pair I purchased prior fit really well. I ordered again and they did not fit at all. The seller allowed me to return my boots and provided a refund. I purchased boots in person to make sure they fit.I love the boots when they fit. The customer service was great and I got a refund.Ive worn the boots about a week, they wear great. Good wearing boots. The new boots look good and fit well too. I think the workmanship was a little shoddier than the last pair I bought two years ago. Things like stitching not lined up and even, the tongue edges are not trimmed correctly. It is wearing well so far though and no issues with fit. I wear out a pair about every two years. From just putting them on and walking around my house i can tell they are the comfiest boots i have ever worn, they are padded on the bottom, lightweight (compared to my other boots), and even on the inside throughout there is a layer of soft fabric that adds comfort, good breathability. Overall great boot.Update: just walked about 4Km (2.5ish miles) and must say the only downfall is in the back of my left heel as i walked up hills i noticed a bit of chaffing, not much, but enough to cause a tiny red spot on the back of my heel. I reccomend wearing 2 socks with these boots.update:Leather tore after a few dozen days of casual wear. Clearly a material defect. Nothing but static and redirect by their customer "service" both sides of the border. I would buy another set if it wasnt for them jerking me around. I should have trusted my gut and stuck with Danner. I am shopping for some now.Gone for countless hikes in these boots. After years of bargain-bin department store brand boots these were a real treat to wear. After they break in they provide excellent ankle support and are supremely comfortable perfect to wear around rugged terrain and awkward features. They have saved my ankles many times from rolls and sprains. At the price point these are unbeatable. Have worn mine hard for a year and they are still going strong.Have this model for all my military need. Recommended if you want to be comfortable out of the box.Very disappointed with the build Quality. The fabric used is not of an international standard, nor for serious individuals or groups. And to top it off the product came damaged
